Social Work is all about helping people in need. As a Tutor I will be able to use my social work skills in helping students master their educational goals.
Experience
Currently I'm employed full time as a Foster Care Case Manager/Social Worker for a Child Placing Agency. My past tutoring opportunities include; Tutor at Huntington Learning Center in Kingwood, Texas tutor Reading/Writing/Math for elementary-middle school students. Substitute Teacher-New Caney ISD encourage students in classes to work hard, use test taking strategies on tests and complete homework at home. The reason why I want to be a Tutor is to continue to encourage and enhance a child's confidence level and assist them in mastering their educational goals. With every student, it is all about establishing a relationship and working on the intervention plan. You first have to start out where the student is and then work on the plan on how we will make them master the learning content. As a Tutor, I always adjust my teaching style to meet the child's learning style. In my eyes, All students are special and capable of much success in their life. All students are LEADERS because they can be whatever they want to as long as they put their mind to it.
